As Great Britain is at present a member of the EU, all 'supplies of goods' must be understood to be made in accordance with Directive 2011/83/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 25th October 20011, as interpreted by the British Parliament in the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Under the above a seller is under a legal obligation to supply goods that are in conformity with the contract made, and the purchaser has a right to cancel the contract for any or no reason within fourteen days of the goods being received. Anyone wishing to do so must return them at his own expense, though the seller must return in addition to the cost of the goods any delivery charges that he has made re-calculated if necessary to the lowest (or standard) rate (usually, in our case, second-class post or surface mail). The purchaser by ordering through this site agrees to accept e-mail as a durable medium as defined in the Consumer Contracts Regulations cited above. We have to include these legal notices, and a form notifying return, but our own rules, which are those of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association, are in general somewhat more liberal.

Cards accepted via PayPal are VISA, MasterCard, (non-corporate) American Express, Discover, Switch, and Solo. All customers will be billed in pounds sterling or (if they so choose) U.S. dollars. If neither of these is your native currency, and you are paying by plastic, PayPal will convert at their current rate.
We are happy to accept payments by personal cheque in many currencies as long as they are drawn on a bank in the country of origin. Further details are given below. If you have a query not dealt with there, please do not hesitate to contact us, when we shall be happy to advise.
